Newcastle upon Tyne

Across the River Tyne from Gateshead lies the city of Newcastle. There are numerous sites featuring photos, but here are one or two which I have taken.

Bessie Surtees' House

One of the oldest houses in Newcastle dating back to the 15th century, this building bears the name of the daughter of its owner in the late 18th century who eloped with William Scott, later to become the first Lord Eldon, and Lord Chancellor of England. Photographed 2nd March 2002
